From August 21 to 22, the “National Final of Intelligent Connected Vehicle (ICV) Design under 2021 National Undergraduate Engineering Practice and Innovation Ability Competition and the Summit on Industry-Education Integration in the Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry” was held in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. The event was organized by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, and hosted by the Engineering Training and Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education.
The preliminary round was attended by 315 teams from 89 universities in 22 provinces across the country. After three months of fierce competition, 53 teams made their way to the national final. Representing our university was the “Magic Frog” team, guided by ZHANG Hantao and others from the Engineering Practice Innovation Center, with student members such as QI Sikai from Class Jishi20 and YIN Xipeng from Class JiAi191 of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering. After nearly 10 months of training and learning, the team won the second place and the golden prize in the national final held on August 22nd.
The competition was highly responsive to industry needs, utilizing the self-determined virtual testing simulation platform for intelligent networked vehicles developed by the National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center. Focusing on driving decision-making and control algorithms, the competition evaluated contestants through their automatic driving performances in a virtual environment for the above scenarios.
