On September 4^th, the Beijing Great Wall Cultural Festival 2021 opened at the Wangjing Square in Badaling Great Wall. It is sponsored by the Publicity Ministry of Beijing Municipal Committee, organized by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Cultural Heritage Administration, Yanqing District People’s Government, Beijing Cultural Activities Department for the 2022 Winter Olympics Organising Committee, Internet Information Office of Beijing Municipal Committee, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports. Besides, it is co-sponsored by the Great Wall Society of China, China News Service, China Cultural Relics Newspaper, BUCEA and Beijing Great Wall Cultural Research Association, and co-organized by the Publicity Ministries of District Committee and District Bureaus of Culture and Tourism along the Great Wall in Beijing.

LI Junqi, Vice President of BUCEA, and representatives from Research and Development Institute, Culture Development Research Institute, Beijing Great Wall Cultural Research Institute and School of Economics and Management were invited to attend the opening ceremony.

The Beijing Great Wall Cultural Festival 2021, themed “The Charm of the Great Wall, The Meeting at the Winter Olympics”, was held for one week, having attracted wide public participation, promoted people’s consumption, and enhanced their sense of happiness and gain. Based on the cultural connotation of the Great Wall, the opening ceremony has set up four chapters, “Bringing in Peace - Building the Great Wall Together”, “Building a Centurial Dream – Watching Over for Inheritance”, “Ecological Civilisation - City of Happiness” and “Gathering at the Great Wall - Welcoming the Winter Olympics Together”, highlighting the exchange of achievements in the construction of Beijing's Great Wall Culture Belt and integrating the elements of the 2022 Winter Olympics at the foot of the Great Wall.

The Construction and Protection Plan of the Great Wall National Cultural Park (Beijing Section)  ,  formulated by Prof. TANG Yuyang of BUCEA and her team, has been deliberated and approved at the Special Meeting of Beijing Municipal National Cultural Centralized Construction and Promotion Leading Group.
