CAE fellow WANG Jianguo gives BUCEA teachers and students a special report

On May 29, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) invited Academician WANG Jianguo of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) to give a special tutorial report, as a part of “Master Lectures” at the university. The meeting was chaired by ZHANG Dayu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of BUCEA, with over 1,000 teachers and students attending it via live broadcast.

Prof. WANG Jianguo is a member of the CAE, the director of the Urban Design Research Center of Southeast University, and the director of the Academic Committee of Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Future Urban Design. He serves concurrently as the vice president of both the Architectural Society of China and Urban Planning Society of China, etc. and has long been engaged in cutting-edge research and engineering practices in the field of architecture, urban design, architectural heritage preservation and made outstanding achievements. In the tutorial report themed “Four Roles of Architectural Design and Engineering Practical Exploration”, Academician WANG Jianguo centered around the creation and application of urban and architectural design in a large number of cases to share with participants his understanding, command, and prospects for the four roles in architectural design, i.e. user, improver, competitor, and terminator in a simple but informative manner.
