BUCEA and KATU Held a Cooperative Meeting

On the morning of May 18th, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA), together with S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University (KATU) in the Republic of Kazakhstan held an online cooperative meeting. Saltanat Meiramova, Director of KATU’s International Cooperation and Multilingual Education Development Center, JIANG Jie, Executive Dean of BUCEA’s International Development Research Institute (School of International Education) and other delegates attended the meeting.

Director Meiramova briefly introduced KATU, including its available majors and niche disciplines, before highlighting the partnership of KATU’s Kazakh-Chinese Center of Science and Education with Chinese institutes of higher education. She believed that KATU and BUCEA share many similarities in available majors and school-running characteristics,, and hopes both universities can carry out mutual exchanges and cooperation.

Dean JIANG Jie holistically introduced BUCEA, from international talent cultivating, building an international platform for innovation, to international cooperation and exchanges and so on. She then sincerely invited KATU to participate in three projects launched by BUCEA, which are Global Campus: Exchange Program for Summer Schools 2021, 2021 Virtual Summer School on Smart City and 2021 International Student Competition on Architectural Design and Digital Modelling. Finally, Dean JIANG explained BUCEA’s Enrollment Guide for English-Taught Master’s Degree Programs, and expected that both universities can take students and faculties exchanges as a starting point, and advance hand in hand to promote the all-round cooperation between the two universities.

The two sides also discussed the prospects for a joint technical cooperation on grassland ecological monitoring.
