Multiple key technologies and iconic capital service achievements of BUCEA unveiled at China International Fair for Trade in Services

From September 2 to 7, the 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held in Beijing. On September 3, JIANG Zeting, Secretary of the CPC Committee, BUCEA, and ZHANG Dayu and LI Junqi, CPC committee members and vice presidents of BUCEA, visited Shougang Park (thematic exhibition area for the engineering consulting and construction services), where parts of exhibitions were staged, to investigate the BUCEA exhibition booth, visit other exhibition areas, and send regards to the student volunteers.

On September 4, BUCEA was invited to participate in Beijing International Education Services Achievements (Higher Education) Release Conference in Shougang Park, a major event during CIFTIS. The conference was organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, where a total of 9 Beijing universities were invited.

At the conference, Professor ZHANG Mingshun released the outcomes of the Strengthening Higher Education in Urban Sustainability and Transitions Towards Internationalization of Academic Institutions and Networks. The project was fully funded by the EU Committee on Education and Culture, aiming to promote quality education and international cooperation in urban sustainability in Eurasian universities. The project was participated by 1 international academic organization, 3 Asian universities, and 6 European universities. In July 2014, the project was officially launched in BUCEA. In August 2016, course module development was completed. To date, over 2,000 postgraduates from over 20 universities at home and abroad have participated in these courses, competitions, and internships.

On September 4, international students, together with staff from the International Development Research Institute, visited the fair, which was reported by “News Network” program at the national broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV).

The fair was themed “Towards Digital Future and Service Driven Development” and was held in two venues, i.e. China National Convention Center and Shougang Park. The comprehensive exhibition was held in China National Convention Center and thematic exhibitions were held in Shougang Park. Over 10 key technologies, more than 40 key scientific research projects and achievements, and nearly 100 representative social service cases of BUCEA were exhibited via both online and offline.

The thematic exhibitions feature 8 themes (cultural tourism, finance, education, supply chain and business services, sports, health, telecommunications, computer and information services, and engineering consulting and construction). The “Smart Construction, Green Development” exhibition was the first exhibition independently themed on engineering consulting and construction services in the fair. The event was attended by a total of 215 enterprises and public institutions, and 3 universities, i.e. Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Technology, and BUCEA.
