Elsevier’s 2025 list of Highly Cited Chinese Researchers, released recently, features five professors from BUCEA, YI Tinghua, WANG Chongchen, WANG Yanxue, GAO Dawen, and TIAN Guangdong. Prof. YI Tinghua and Prof. WANG Yanxue are recognized in the field of civil engineering; Prof. WANG Chongchen and Prof. GAO Dawen in environmental science and engineering; and Prof. TIAN Guangdong in mechanical engineering.

Elsevier's Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list uses Scopus, the world’s leading citation and abstract database, as the data source for evaluating Chinese scholars' research output. The 2025 list features a total of 6,310 researchers from 543 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, covering 10 disciplinary categories and 83 first-level disciplines defined by the Ministry of Education of China. First launched in 2015, the list marks its 12th release in 2026 and is widely recognized as an important indicator of researchers' academic standing and scientific impact. Scholars on the list demonstrate world-class research excellence in their respective fields and reflect the disciplinary strength and research competitiveness of their institutions.
