On the morning of September 13, the 2024 CIFTIS, themed “Openness, Cooperation, Innovation, Development — New Dynamics Shaping Educational Development” opened at Shougang Park in Beijing. BUCEA was invited to showcase its international education achievements, attracting widespread attention.
Leaders including MA Jun, member of the Party Leadership Group of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, Deputy Mayor of Beijing and Chairman of the Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation, and LI Yi, deputy secretary of the Education Work Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and director of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, visited various exhibition booths of universities in Beijing. Deputy Mayor MA Jun first visited the BUCEA booth, where he listened to and praised the university’s achievements in international development, encouraging continued progress on the Sino-Ethiopian International Talent Training and Practice Base in Civil and Transportation Engineering.
On September 14, BUCEA organized a visit for 2024 international freshmen from seven countries including Ethiopia, to the CIFTIS to enhance their understanding and recognition of China.
BUCEA receiving the Excellent Exhibitor Award at the 2024 CIFTIS Education Services Sector
This year marks the fifth consecutive year that BUCEA has been invited to participate in the education services sector of CIFTIS. The displayed content included high-level international educational and research cooperation achievements such as the International Joint Laboratory of Safety and Energy Conservation for Ancient Buildings of the Ministry of Education, the Beijing International Innovation Center for Architectural Heritage Protection and Development in the Belt and Road Region, and the Sino-Ethiopian International Talent Training and Practice Base in Civil and Transportation Engineering. The exhibition highlighted the BUCEA’s progress in building a shared community of architectural education along the Belt and Road, particularly focusing on the 2024 Summer School on Smart Cities, the Belt and Road International Student Competition on Digital Architectural Design, Global Campus Program, and “Study at BUCEA” brand building. Besides, it showcased BUCEA’s continuous contribution to the Belt and Road initiative and how BUCEA leveraged the advantages of the BRAUIC and fully utilized its technological strengths and practical experiences in talent training, scientific research, and social services.
This year’s education services sector featured 97 on-site exhibitors from 15 countries and regions across five continents. More than 150 online exhibitors participated (with internationalization elements exceeding 40%) with international education as one of the highlights of the 2024 CIFTIS.
