BUCEA President ZHANG Dayu talks with students of the School of Future Architecture and Technology

BUCEA President ZHANG Dayu talked with 23 undergraduate-to-PhD integrated program student representatives from the School of Future Architecture and Technology at the Xicheng campus. The dialogue centered around topics of students’ interest, including academics, research, and their daily life.

ZHANG emphasized that the School serves as a pilot zone for the university’s talent development reforms. With a unique educational model and flexible training system, the school is dedicated to cultivating forward-thinking, interdisciplinary innovators who will drive groundbreaking advancements in architecture.

ZHANG attentively listened to the students’ remarks and fully recognized their growth and achievements in academics, research, and daily life. He encouraged them to foster an innovative mindset, deepen understanding of their respective disciplines, broaden their knowledge horizons, and engage in diligent study and practice while aligning their learning with practice.

During the discussion, students shared their insights on study methods, research breakthroughs, and experiences from academic trips. Faculty and students also engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as teaching, curriculum design, selection of majors, fields of research, exchange programs, and campus services.

Moving forward, the school will continue to host “Face-to-Face” activities of this kind to strengthen communication between faculty and students.
