Crossing Oceans and Continents, Charting Blueprint of Wisdom - Opening Ceremony of 2024 Summer School on Smart Cities

On July 15, the opening ceremony of 2024 Summer School on Smart Cities was held in BUCEA. This summer school is jointly organized by BUCEA, ISPRS, and the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium, and supported by Ningbo University, and the Association of Excellent Engineers of CACE. Nearly 150 teachers and students from 12 universities and research institutes in 8 countries and regions, including China, Russia, Spain, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, and Indonesia, participated in the 9-day study and in-depth social practice. Among them, 82 are international teachers and students, making this the largest participating group in the history of the summer school.

After the opening ceremony, Prof. ZHANG Baoxiu from Beijing Union University made a presentation entitled  The History, Present Day and Future of Beijing .

The 2024 Summer School on Smart Cities organized 10 academic lectures, 5 architectural and landscape design site visits, as well as a variety of rich and colorful practical activities, focusing on the innovative methods, practices, and successful cases in the construction and management of smart cities.

The Summer School on Smart Cities has been held for eight consecutive years, aiming to leverage the advantages of the university’s strong disciplines, serve the Belt and Road initiative to provide a high-level academic and cultural exchange platform for students and young scholars from different countries and regions.
