BUCEA excels in the first “Colorful Beijing” College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

Recently, the first “Colorful Beijing” College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition came to an end, with our university winning the “Outstanding Organization Award” and 5 teams from the School of Civil and Transportation Engineering and the School of Mechanical-Electronic and Vehicle Engineering standing out as the “Top 100” in the scoring track among 4,574 college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship teams. In the competition, “Cui Tong (Green Concrete) Technology-- Construction Waste Green-Growing Recycled Concrete”, completed by 5 students including DING Xizhou with teachers JIN Shanshan, SUO Zhi and QI Shuai from the School of Civil and Transportation Engineering as supervisors, won the honorary title of “100 ‘Golden Seeds’ Project” and won the third prize of the social service track (a total of 4 Beijing municipal universities won the award).

Co-sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, the Competition is themed on “Outstanding Youth in Beijing, Creating the Future” and integrates 10 major policies of bonus encouragement, venue support, entrepreneurship incubation, publicity and promotion as well as investment and financing, to deeply empower the innovation and entrepreneurship of college students. Since its launch, the Competition has received extensive attention from teachers and students of colleges and universities as well as people from all walks of life, attracting a total of 7,475 people to register and participate, and 4,574 innovation and entrepreneurship teams to have signed up successfully for the competition, covering more than 90 colleges and universities and scientific research institutes in Beijing.
