Breakthrough! BUCEA approved for National Social Science Fund Cultural Heritage Protection and Inheritance Research Projects

Professor ZHANG Dayu from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) has recently been granted approval for a project under the 2024 National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) Cultural Heritage Protection and Inheritance Research Projects. The list, released by the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences, marks a significant breakthrough in BUCEA’s cultural heritage protection and inheritance research, and showcases our strength and academic impact in this field.

Professor ZHANG’s project focuses on the coexistence of old and new elements and preservation experiences in historic districts, ancient villages, and towns, aiming to uncover the fundamental patterns behind their evolution.

It is learned that the 2024 NSSFC Cultural Heritage Protection and Inheritance Projects are a series of key projects aiming to implement goals set forth at relevant meetings such as the Cultural Inheritance and Development Seminar. The initiative serves as an important step towards the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional Chinese culture. A total of 34 Chinese universities and research institutions, including Peking University, received approval.
