Remote Sensing Science and Technology and Transportation Engineering at BUCEA successfully pass the engineering education accreditation

On June 25, China Engineering Education Accreditation Association issued “the Notice on Release of the Accreditation Result of 422 Majors including Mechanical Engineering at Southwest Petroleum University”. BUCEA’s two majors, Remote Sensing Science and Technology and Transportation Engineering, all passed the accreditation with six-year validity from January 2022 to December 2027.

As an integral part of higher education in China, engineering education accreditation is of paramount importance in the Five-sphere Integrated Teaching Evaluation System of Higher Education. The accreditation is not only an internationally-accepted system to ensure engineering education quality, but also a bedrock to achieve international mutual recognition of engineering education and engineer qualification.

BUCEA has been attaching great importance to engineering education accreditation for a long time. Surveying and Mapping Engineering is the first major that passed the accreditation in January 2016, opening a new chapter for the high-quality development of BUCEA. Since then, Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering have successively passed the accreditation. By far, five majors of BUCEA have successfully passed the accreditation, accounting for 12.2% of all undergraduate enrollment majors, ranking second among architectural universities nationwide and the top among universities under the supervision of Beijing Municipality.
