Over 3 million students from over 2,700 universities participated, submitting over 390,000 projects. 839 projects from 412 domestic and 14 international universities made it to the national finals.
The competition began in March 2024. With strong support from various departments and schools at BUCEA, 335 innovative projects were registered. After rounds of selection at the university and city levels, BUCEA stood as the only high-level specialized university in Beijing Municipality that advanced to the national finals.
Excellent Projects
I. Discovering Qin: Self-Assembly Technology for Terracotta Warrior Fragments Based on Intelligent Algorithms
Award: Gold Medal, QinChuangYuan Platform Innovation Challenge, 14th “Challenge Cup” QinChuangYuan Platform College Students' Entrepreneurship Competition
Project Overview: This project focuses on low-density point clouds, proposing a point cloud stitching technique that combines deep learning with peak flooding search algorithms. This method effectively solves key challenges in the assembly of Terracotta Warrior fragments, such as unclear textures, irregular fragment shapes, and large data volumes. The method can be successfully applied to Terracotta Warrior fragment restoration and cultural heritage protection.
II. Eternal Dialogue: First AI-Based Cloud Memorial Platform in China
Award: Silver Medal, Main Competition, 14th “Challenge Cup” QinChuangYuan Platform College Students' Entrepreneurship Competition
Project Overview: The team has developed a new type of cloud memorial platform based on AI digital human technology to recreate the voice and appearance of the deceased and learn their emotional traits, allowing users to communicate with them across time. The project has received high praise from Nobel Prize Laureate Professor Tawakkol Karman and has signed an investment agreement with related companies.
III. Prefabricated Shear Wall System with Pre-Installed Rebar and Tight Fitting Assembly for the National Green and Low-Carbon Development Strategy
Award: Bronze Medal, Main Competition, 14th “Challenge Cup” QinChuangYuan Platform College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition
Project Overview: This project addresses the issue of integrated prefab shear wall structures where steel bars extend from the panels and are joined with a post-pour strip which cause problems with standardization, factory production, and assembly. After several rounds of upgrades and innovation in core technology, the team has developed the spontaneous rebar technology and the Gream prefabricated shear wall system, which eliminates exposed rebar, ensures tight connection, and significantly reduces construction costs and carbon emissions.
IV. 3D Analysis Platform Based on Multimodal Large Models
Award: Bronze Medal, Main Competition, 14th “Challenge Cup” QinChuangYuan Platform College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition
Project Overview: With the ongoing development of real-world 3D technology in China, the need for 3D analysis in urban planning and emergency rescue is on the rise. This project is the first 3D analysis platform based on large models in China, using three innovative technologies and four innovative applications to help users rapidly configure their own 3D models.
V. Multi-objective Synergistic Seismic Mitigation Technology for Resilient Buildings
Award: Bronze Medal, QinChuangYuan Platform Innovation Challenge, 14th “Challenge Cup” QinChuangYuan Platform College Students' Entrepreneurship Competition
Project Overview: While the existing seismic-resistance and shock-reduction technology in China prevents buildings from collapsing during earthquakes, many still lose functionality afterwards. Building structures that ensure both security and continued functionality is a new challenge. This project has systematically developed a multi-objective collaborative shock-reduction device and design technology to deliver double layers of security for resilient buildings.
