On December 2-4, 2022, the 17th National Symposium on Concrete Structure Education and the 7th National Young Teachers’ Contest for Concrete Structure Education were successfully held at the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) via online video broadcasting. More than 1,100 representatives from nearly 100 universities and enterprises nationwide attended the conference with over 8,000 online audiences.
The conference was hosted by the Education Affairs Committee of the China Civil Engineering Society, the Civil Engineering Education Guidance Subcommittee for Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education, and the Education and Human Resources Committee of China Concrete & Cement-based Products Association, and co-organized by BUCEA.

At the conference, Prof. LI Aiqun from BUCEA, Prof. QIU Hongxing from Southeast University, Prof. GU Xianglin from Tongji University, Prof. JIN Weiliang from Zhejiang University, Prof. LU Xinzheng from Tsinghua University, Prof. DAI Jianguo from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Prof. SHI Qingxuan from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, Prof. YAN Jiabao from Tianjin University and Prof. WANG Jingfeng from Hefei University of Technology were invited to give invited presentations. In addition, experts and scholars from 12 universities and enterprises nationwide delivered reports at parallel sessions.
On the afternoon of December 3, the 7th National Young Teachers’ Contest for Concrete Structure Education was held in which 43 young teachers from 35 universities competed. After the steps of real-time presentation, impromptu lecturing, and expert comments, 32 senior experts selected 6 winners of the first prize, 14 winners of the second prize, and 23 winners of the third prize.
