BUCEA wins five prizes of China Award for Science and Technology in Construction as first contributor

On January 28, the Award Committee of China Award for Science and Technology in Construction announced the award list for 2022. Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) won a total of five prizes as the first contributor, including three first prizes and two second prizes. In addition, BUCEA won two first prizes and one third prize as a participant. The total number of prizes as the first contributor and first prize both reached a record high in the history of the university.

Among them, the following projects won the first prize as the first contributor: “Research and Industrial Application of Key Technologies for Source Reduction and Efficient Disposal of Construction Waste” project completed by Professor ZHANG Dayu’s team, “Key Technologies for Urban Rainwater Quantity-Quality Synergy Whole-Process Control and Its Integrated Application” project completed by Professor LI Junqi’s team, and “Key Technology for Green and High-Value Cold Recycling of Waste Asphalt Pavement and Its Demonstrative Application” project completed by Professor SUO Zhi’s team.

In addition, BUCEA won the second prize as the first contributor with the following projects: “Key Technologies for ‘Cloud-Edge-End’ Multi-Source Collaborative Monitoring and Early Warning for Large-Scale Building Deformation and Its Application” project completed by Associate Professor HAN Houzeng’s team; and “Key Technology for Intelligent Management in the Whole Life Cycle of Urban Underground Utility Tunnel” project completed by Associate Professor CHEN Yongjun’s team. As for prizes received by BUCEA as a participant, the project completed by Professor ZHANG Jie’s team, “Heritage Protection-Based Theory and Key Technologies for the Sustainable Renewal of Old Industrial Zones and Its Engineering Application”, won the first prize; the project with the participation of Professor XIE Linlin’s team, “Key Technologies for Earthquake Damage Control of High-Rise Buildings and Its Application”, won the first prize; the project with the participation of Professor ZHU Lei’s team, “Technical Specification for Adding Elevators to Existing Buildings T/CECS 862-2021”, won the third prize.

It is reported that the “China Award for Science and Technology in Construction” is a science and technology award in the construction industry. It aims to recognize and encourage citizens and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to technological progress and promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in the field of housing and urban-rural construction into productivity. 200 projects were offered the award in 2022, including one grand prize, 29 first prizes, 60 second prizes and 110 third prizes.
