Recently, four technical standards in the field of bridge engineering, led by Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA), have been officially released for implementation. The series of standards focuses on the health monitoring and maintenance of long-span bridges. It addresses key technical areas such as rapid detection of structural damage, parameter identification, numerical analysis, and performance evaluation, providing important technical guidance for related engineering practices.
BUCEA attaches great importance to the leading role of standardization in advancing disciplinary development and promoting collaboration among industry, academia, and research. The university actively encourages faculty members to participate in the development of technical standards, helping applying research outcomes to serve industry needs. The four newly released standards are:
Technical specification on corrosion inspection of bridge concrete using ground penetrating radar (T/CCES 42);
Technical specification for testing and identification of modal parameters of bridge structures (T/CECS 1905);
Technical specification on numerical analysis of bridge health condition (T/CCES 66);
and Technical specification for rapid testing and evaluation of load-carrying capacity of highway bridges (T/CCES 43).
