LI Junfeng, the secretary of the CPC Committee of BUCEA, led a delegation to conduct themed research in Shanghai and Hangzhou from May 10 to 12. Focusing on the key points in the reform and development of universities, the research centered on promoting the coordinated development of educational, scientific, and technological professionals in an integrated way, improving the talent cultivation and sci-tech innovation system featuring efficient coordination and deep integration of government, industry, university, research institutions and application, and uniting the strength of alumni. WANG Yiming, the deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of BUCEA, and ZHU Jing, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and vice president of BUCEA, participated in the research.

LI Junfeng and the delegation visited Tongji Architectural Design (TJAD) and the student community at Tongji University, and exchanged views with FANG Shouen, the secretary of the CPC Committee of Tongji University, and PENG Zhenwei, the deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of Tongji University on the cultivation of top-level innovative talents, the integration of industry and education, and the integration of science and education.

XI Lifeng, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and vice president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, introduced the basic situation of the university. Then, the two sides had discussions on the cultivation of outstanding talents, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and the construction of the “Grand Neobay”. LI Junfeng and the delegation also visited TURINGQ, Vi PARK and other entrepreneurial enterprises in the “Grand Neobay”, and learned in details about the integration and development of incubators, business accelerators, university science and technology parks, achievement transformation bases and sci-tech innovation complexes.

Accompanied by WU Jian, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and vice president of Zhejiang University, the delegation visited the Collaborative Innovation Center of Artificial Intelligence by MOE and Zhejiang Provincial Government, the State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power & Mechatronic Systems and Chu Kochen Honors College, and carried out in-depth discussions on the building of an excellent educational system centered on student growth, interdisciplinary integration and international exchange and cooperation.

The delegation also visited both the Zhongfa Aviation University and Hangzhou Innovation Institute of Beihang University to learn details about science and technology innovation, campus construction, international educational cooperation, etc.

During the period, LI Junfeng and the delegation also visited some alumni working in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, and had discussions with alumni representatives to listen to their opinions and suggestions on promoting the high-quality development of the university in the new era and new journey.
