ZHANG Dayu, President of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA), led a delegation to Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) during June 5-11. In Serbia, the delegation visited the Ministry of Science and Technological Development and Innovation, the University of Novi Sad, the University of Niš, the University of Belgrade, the Belt and Road Institute, Belgrade, and China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Serbia Branch. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the delegation visited the University of Banja Luka and the University of Mostar. During the visit, BUCEA and relevant parties conducted in-depth and effective exchanges on the development of the Beijing International Innovation Center for the Conservation and Development of the Belt and Road Architectural heritage (Innovation Center), joint training of international talents, and the integrated development of industry, university and research.

The delegation visited the University of Novi Sad for the discussion on the development of the Innovation Center. President ZHANG Dayu and Rector Dejan Madić jointly inaugurated the Innovation Center (Novi Sad Base). President ZHANG Dayu presented the letter of appointment to President Dejan Madić as Deputy Director of the Council of the Innovation Center. Together, they issued letters of appointment to members of the Serbian Academic and Advisory Committee of the Innovation Center.

The visit covers the Ministry of Science and Technological Development and Innovation of Serbia and 7 universities, institutes and enterprises. A work meeting for the Innovation Center and 4 academic and technical seminars were held, and 3 cooperation agreements were signed. On behalf of BUCEA and the Belt and Road Architectural University International Alliance, President ZHANG Dayu invited relevant parties to participate in the Belt and Road International Student Competition on Digital Architectural Design, the Summer School on Smart Cities, the BRAUIC Conference and Forum , and the Beijing International Urban Design Forum, which received positive responses.
