The fourth Member Congress of the BUCEA Alumni Association held

The fourth Member Congress of the Alumni Association of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) was held on the morning of July 1. The congress was attended by LI Junfeng, Secretary of the CPC Committee of BUCEA, ZHANG Dayu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of BUCEA, LI Weiping, the former Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of BUCEA, ZHU Jing, Vice President of BUCEA, and representatives of the congress. ZHU Jing served as the moderator.

In his speech, LI Junfeng expressed sincere gratitude to alumni who have long been caring about and supporting the development of the university and shared his thoughts on alumni-related work from four aspects. First, alumni-related affairs should be taken into consideration in the overall plan of building a first-class university. Second, the university should always support and care about alumni’s growth and development. Third, the university will carefully listen to alumni’s valuable opinions and suggestions. Fourth, the university should make greater efforts to help alumni, and alumni should actively help each other, as well as their alma mater.

ZHANG Dayu extended a warm welcome to the returning alumni and expressed heartfelt thanks to alumni who have long been caring about and supporting the development of the university and to members of the third council of the Alumni Association for their hard work.

He regarded alumni as exemplars and practitioners of the social impact of the university, and promoters and participants in BUCEA’s reform and development.

The congress heard the report on the work of the third council and board of supervisors of the Alumni Association and reviewed in writing the report on the financial work of the third council of the Alumni Association and charter (draft) of the Alumni Association. Each delegation of the Alumni Association reviewed and discussed the report of the congress and voted to accept the proposal that the Alumni Association doesn’t charge membership fees.

On the same day, the university held the first meeting of the fourth council and a symposium with alumni representatives as required by the charter of the Alumni Association, to vote on the president, vice president, secretary general, and executive directors and adopt the change of the legal representative of the Alumni Association.

LI Junfeng was voted the president of the fourth council of the Alumni Association, LI Weiping and ZHU Jing the vice presidents, ZHU Junling the secretary general, 18 alumni executive directors, and LIU Wei the chair of the fourth board of supervisors of the Alumni Association.

In the discussion session, alumni representatives put forward valuable opinions and suggestions.
