On July 5, the launching ceremony for the 2023 “People’s City” Summer Social Practice and the signing ceremony for the “Great Ideological and Political Education” Practice Teaching Base was held at the Student Activity Center on Daxing Campus, BUCEA. Guests invited to attend the event included KAN Baokui, deputy director of the Youth Development Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, LIU Bingquan, second-level inspector and director of the Department of University and Secondary Technical Education of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, among others. More than 400 people attended the event, including LI Junfeng, secretary of the CPC Committee of BUCEA, and WANG Yiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of BUCEA. The event was presided over by ZHU Jing, a member of the CPC Committee and vice president of BUCEA.

LI Junfeng expressed his gratitude for the guidance and care provided by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Education Work Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee, and the Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League. He also warmly welcomed and sincerely thanked the representatives of the teaching units involved in the “Great Ideological and Political Education” for their presence and support. He put forward relevant requirements in three aspects. First, we need to understand the importance of carrying out summer social practice to contribute to the construction of Beijing as the “People’s City”. Second, we need to accurately grasp the key points of carrying out the summer social practice activities. Third, we need to ensure summer social practice activities are effective.

ZHU Jing introduced the plan for the 2023 “People’s City” Summer Social Practice. During the summer vacation, BUCEA will gather more than 1,500 teachers and students as 119 practice teams to carry out social practice activities.

Under the witness of the leaders present at the meeting, 24 township governments, enterprises and institutions, including the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design (BIAD), officially became the first batch of units as part of the “Great Ideological and Political Education” Practice Teaching Base.
