BUCEA’s alumnus MA Haizhi awarded “National Engineering Survey and Design Master”

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China has recently announced the list of the 10th batch of the National Engineering Survey and Design Master. BUCEA’s alumnus MA Haizhi was one of the laureates. Mr. MA Haizhi majored in surveying and mapping engineering and graduated from BUCEA in 1989. Now, he is the Secretary of the CPC Committee as well as the Chairman of the Board of Beijing Urban Construction Exploration & Surveying Design Research Institute.

The National Engineering Survey and Design Master is a state-level honorary title in the engineering survey and design industry in China. Its selection takes place every two years, covering 28 majors in the engineering survey and design industry. By far, 12 BUCEA’s alumni have been awarded “National Engineering Survey and Design Master”.

Profile

Born in July 1967, MA Haizhi, National Engineering Survey and Design Master, graduated in surveying and mapping engineering from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture in 1989. After earning an MBA degree at Tsinghua University, he received a Ph.D. in management from the University of Management and Technology (UMT) in the United States. Currently, he works as the Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of the Board of Beijing Urban Construction Exploration & Surveying Design Research Institute, and Vice Chairman of China Society of Metros. Mr. MA has committed himself to urban rail transit and research and application of survey technology for super-large industrial and civil buildings. He has not only edited a host of national standards but also won the Gold Prize of National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Industry Award as well as the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, making remarkable achievements in China’s urban rail transit and large precision engineering survey.
