On January 18, Mentougou District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and BUCEA signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The BUCEA-Mentougou District Rural Revitalization Laboratory was unveiled, marking the founding of the first research-oriented rural revitalization institute of universities in Beijing.

In the meeting, ZHANG Dayu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of BUCEA, announced the BUCEA Action Plan for Serving Rural Revitalization in Mentougou District. The two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement and officially unveiled the BUCEA-Mentougou District Rural Revitalization Laboratory and BUCEA Rural Revitalization Research and Practice Base.
According to the Plan, the Rural Revitalization Laboratory will take the circumstances of rural revitalization in Mentougou District into account and focus on three major areas, namely, culture inheritance and rejuvenation, organic rural renewal and industrial green development. It will carry out 10 major actions, including research on old villages in western Beijing, the comprehensive study of ancient roads in western Beijing, the Yongding River Culture Belt and the Great Wall Culture Belt of Mentougou section, and collecting red cultural resources in Mentougou District.
