On December 2, ZHAO Xudong, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK and Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, visited Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) for academic exchange. WANG Pan, Chairman of the University Council of BUCEA, met with Professor Zhao and his delegation and presented him with the Honorary Professor Certificate. The event was attended by WANG Aijun, Deputy Chairman of the University Council of  BUCEA; CHEN Hongbing, Vice President; and heads of relevant departments and schools.

WANG Pan warmly welcomed Professor Zhao and expressed his hope that, following the appointment, he would play an active role in discipline development, talent cultivation, research platform building, and the production of high-level academic outcomes at BUCEA.

ZHAO Xudong congratulated the university on its achievements in recent years and said he was deeply honored to be appointed Honorary Professor. Looking ahead, he noted that he would fully leverage his academic expertise and international networks to support the development of BUCEA’s environment and energy disciplines.

WANG Pan then presented the appointment certificate, marking a substantive step forward in deepening cooperation between the two sides.

Following the appointment ceremony, Professor ZHAO Xudong delivered an academic lecture to faculty and students of the School of Environment and Energy Engineering. Drawing on his team’s research, he introduced several internationally influential innovative technologies and engineering demonstration projects. During the Q & A session, he provided detailed responses to questions from faculty and students.

In his closing remark, Vice President CHEN Hongbing noted that Professor ZHAO Xudong’s strong academic background and extensive practical experience have broadened perspectives and offered valuable inspiration for advancing the university’s research and academic work.
