Remarks from Award-Winning Team Representatives

ZHANG Bowen from BUCEA:
“I am very grateful to the organizing committee and the Eden Zone for giving us this opportunity to showcase our work. This is also our first time participating in an architecture-related competition. We would like to thank our instructors, YANG Yifan and QI Ying, for guiding and supporting us during the summer to help us advance our design. This is our first time standing on a podium related to architecture, but I believe we will go further and further in the future.”

YIN Junhao from Tianjin Chengjian University:
“Our design core is carrying sci-fi through locality. We aim to transform an abandoned mine that bears historical traces into a Martian mining colony imagination that connects the past with the future. Technically, we used local materials and low-energy systems to ensure the project aligns with the community’s sustainability concept. Eye of the Star Crater is not only a cultural tourism site but also an architectural proposal.”

Liong Xianwen from UTAR (Malaysia):
“Imprints of the Belt: A Timeless Cliffscape of Symbiosis” centers on the idea that destruction is also rebirth, exploring ecological restoration and the possibility of symbiosis in mining areas. We are grateful to the organizers for providing this opportunity, and we thank our instructors for their support and guidance.”
