On the morning of May 30, Kazakh Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture (KazNIISA) delegation visited BUCEA. The signing ceremony of the MOU between the two sides was held at the Xicheng Campus. ZHANG Dayu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of the university, YANG Jianwei, Standing Committee Member of the CPC Committee and Vice President of the university, and Mr. KULBAYEV BEGMAN, General Manager of the KazNIISA, attended the signing ceremony.

In his speech, President ZHANG Dayu welcomed the delegation of KazNIISA. He said that under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, the two sides have started scientific research cooperation in the field of seismic performance enhancement for buildings and completed the first experiment after the inauguration of the Multi-functional Shaking Tables Laboratory in BUCEA, having fully demonstrated the foundation and achievements of our previous cooperation. It is hoped that the two sides will take the signing of the MOU as an opportunity to consolidate the foundation of cooperation and explore new fields of collaboration through continuous technical exchanges and project cooperation.

Mr. KULBAYEV BEGMAN expressed his heartfelt thanks to BUCEA for the warm reception and highly praised the research results of the cooperation. He believed that the two sides could carry out more extensive practical cooperation in the fields of building seismic resilience and seismic isolation and mitigation.

President ZHANG Dayu and Mr. KULBAYEV BEGMAN signed a MOU, and reached further cooperation intentions in jointly promoting the exchange and cooperation of building technology between China and Kazakhstan.
