The 2023 Beijing Digital Education Conference opening at BUCEA

On the morning of April 22, the 2023 Beijing Digital Education Conference opened at Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA). Under the theme of “Digital Empowerment and Education Innovation”, the conference, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, discussed digital revolution and transition and development, so as to vigorously promote the digital transition and development of education in Beijing, thus supporting the high-quality development of education in Beijing through education digitization.

At the conference

The opening ceremony was attended by LIU Yuhui, ViceMayor of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, LEI Chaozi, director-general of the MOE (Ministry of Education) Science and Technology Department, ZHENG Weimin, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, other personnel in charge from the municipal and district education commissions, and presidents, leaders and relevant persons in charge from universities, primary and secondary schools,and vocational schools. The opening ceremony was presided over by LI Yi, deputy secretary of the Beijing Municipal Education Working Committee of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and director of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission.

In the release of the main meeting’s achievements, GE Juzhong, second-level inspector of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, issued the “Smart Campus Construction Code for Beijing Primary and Secondary School (Trial)” and “Smart Campus Construction Code for Beijing Higher Education School (Trial)” (hereinafter referred to as “the Code”). During the conference, three parallel sessions were held focusing on higher education, vocational education, and basic education respectively.
