On December 11-12, the ninth Member Congress of Labor Union and the ninth Faculty and Staff Congress of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) were held at Daxing Campus.

SONG Lijing, Chair of Beijing Education Labor Union, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was also attended by representatives from BUCEA Labor Union and Faculty and Staff Congress as well as observers.

In her speech, SONG Lijing highly recognized the work and achievements of the BUCEA Labor Union and Faculty and Staff Congress in strengthening ideological guidance, protecting legitimate rights and interests, promoting democratic management, and serving the needs of faculty members and staff.

LI Junfeng, Secretary of CPC Committee of BUCEA, warmly congratulated on the convening of the conferences.

He emphasized that BUCEA is at a critical stage of transformation and upgrading. The second CPC Congress of BUCEA has set the tasks for the next five years. The Labor Union and Faculty and Staff Congress should take this opportunity to summarize their work experience, benchmark against new tasks and requirements, and play a better role in promoting integration and synergy.

ZHANG Dayu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of BUCEA delivered the BUCEA work report.

ZHU Jing, a member of CPC Standing Committee and Vice President of BUCEA made a report on the work of BUCEA Labor Union and Faculty and Staff Congress.

On the morning of December 12, the election and closing ceremony of the ninth Member Congress of Labor Union were held. At the conference, the “Work Report of the Eighth Labor Union Committee of BUCEA”, “Financial Report of the Eighth Labor Union Committee of BUCEA”, and “Work Report of the Eighth Fund Audit Committee of BUCEA” were reviewed and approved. The “Resolutions of the Ninth Member Congress of Labor Union of BUCEA” were also passed, and the members of the ninth Labor Union Committee and the Fund Audit Committee were elected.

In the afternoon, the election and closing ceremony of the ninth Faculty Congress were held. The conference heard the “2018-2022 BUCEA Work Report” and “2018-2022 BUCEA Financial Report, and reviewed the “Work Report of the Eighth Faculty Congress and Member Congress of BUCEA Labor Union”, “Report on the Proposal of the Eighth Faculty and Staff Congress of BUCEA”, and “2018-2022 BUCEA Report on the Use of Faculty and Staff Welfare Fund”. The “Resolution of the Ninth Faculty and Staff Congress of BUCEA” was passed, and the members of the Executive Committee of the Ninth Faculty and Staff Congress were elected.

During the conferences, the presidium and the delegations of BUCEA Labor Union and Faculty and Staff Congress held meetings to actively offer suggestions and recommendations on party building, ideological guidance, talent cultivation, scientific research, faculty development, social services, and campus management, providing valuable insights for BUCEA’s reform and development.
