On August 15, “2023 Urban and Rural Renewal: Excellent Graduation Project Exhibition of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA)” was opened at Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall. Focusing on urban and rural renewal, 12 excellent graduation projects at the university level were presented, covering topics such as cultural heritage preservation and renewal, linear culture belt renewal, industrial heritage renewal and reuse. These exhibits embodied not only the universities’ concern about social issues but also the patriotism and innovation capabilities of students at BUCEA.
The opening ceremony was attended by LI Junfeng, Secretary of the CPC Committee of BUCEA, CHEN Hongbing, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of BUCEA, and XU Yongmei, Curator of Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall. Teachers, students, and parent representatives from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning also participated in the opening ceremony and visited the exhibition.

He said BUCEA, as a high-level distinctive university with over 100 years of history, had always followed the times and advanced in tandem with the capital in urban and rural construction. Themed “Urban and Rural Renewal”, the exhibition demonstrated BUCEA’s commitment to serving urban renewal with expertise and assisting in building cities for the people.

Under the strategic cooperation agreement between Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall and BUCEA, we will further integrate resources, organize more in-depth exchanges and carry out cooperation in urban stock renewal, cultural heritage protection and renewal, linear culture belt renewal, industrial heritage renewal and reuse, etc., calling on more people to pay attention to changes in urban renewal and contribute their strength to urban construction and taking various measures to plan a better future for the city.
